Previously painted surfaces should be stripped back to bare wood and lightly sanded.
Application: New timber: Apply 2/3 coats of Nordac Sheen evenly by brush (3 coats are recommended for maximum exterior durability especially in exposed elevations).
Timber previously painted with Nordac should be lightly abraded and two coats of Nordac applied.
Notes: Softwoods may be treated with a proprietary wood preservative prior to application of Nordac. Exterior durability in common with all coloured exterior varnishes, the darker stains will give better protection against degradation caused by ultra-voilet light. Where a gloss finish is required, the Nordac should be overcoated with Nordac Clear Gloss.
For longterm protection Nordac Clear Gloss alone is not recommended for exterior use.
