Single Pack Primer with excellent adhesion and durability

Modified urethane with rush-inhibitive pigments for long-term protection of steelwork, outstanding adhesion and durability. Excellent resistance to weathering, mild chemicals, industrial polluants, etc.

Colours available: Grey, Red Oxide, Black, White
Other colours to special order may be subject to minimum order requirement.
Appearance Of Dried Film: Low Sheen
Volume Solids: 47%
Dry Film Thickness: Typical 50 microns
Theoretical Coverage: 9.4m² per litre at 50 microns dry film thickness
Drying Time At 20°C:
Touch Dry: 2 hours
Film Dry: 4 hours
Overcoat: Overnight
(will vary with temperature, air movements, etc.)
Packaging: 5 litre containers
Shelf Life: 2 years or longer in unopened containers when stored under cover in good storage conditions.
Storage: Under cover with temperature range of 5°C to 32°C.
Surface Preparation: Preferred method is abrasive blast to ISO 8501-1 SA2.5.
Manual Clean: Chip, scrape and power wirebrush to remove all loose millscale, rust, etc. Any previous coatings remaining must be sound with good adhesion. Feather all edges to achieve smooth profile. Degrease immediately prior to painting using Dacrylate Thinner R1 or R70.
Application: Conventional Spray: May require addition of upto 10% Dacrylate Thinner R70 to achieve optimum spray characteristics.
Airless Spray: Ready for use. Tip pressure approximately 2500psi (170 Bar). Tip size 11-13 thou (0.28mm - 0.33mm).
Brush: Ready for use. Apply unthinned material at an approximate wet film thickness of 105 microns to achieve a dry film thickness of 50 microns.
Overcoating: Maybe overcoated with any white spirit based finishes, eg. Vehicle and Machinery Enamel, QD2 Enamel, Alkysil Gloss, Dacsil.
Clean-up: Dacrylate Thinner R1 or R70.
