Single Pack Primer for general use under both 1-pack and 2-pack air drying finishes

A high build one-pack and two-pack primer (when used with GP Hardener/Activator) for general use under both single-pack and two-pack air drying finishes.

Colours available: Mid Grey, Black, Off-white, Blue, Buff, Red, Green

Volume Solids: 40%
Dry Film Thickness: Typical 50 microns
Theoretical Coverage: 8m² per litre at 50 microns dry film thickness
Drying Time At 20°C:
Touch Dry: 30 minutes
Film Dry: 1½ hours
Overcoat: 1½ hours
(will vary with temperature, air movements, etc.)
V.O.C.: 540gms/litre
Packaging: 5 litre containers
Shelf Life: 2 years or longer in unopened containers when stored under cover in good storage conditions.
Storage: Under cover with temperature range of 5°C to 32°C.
Surface Preparation: Steel: Abrasive blast to ISO 8501-1 SA2.5 (mild steel, free of rust and millscale should be decreased with Dacrylate Thinner R5.
Aluminium, galvanised steel, Zintec: Pre-prime with two-pack Etch Primer.
Fibreglass/GRP: Lightly abrade and decrease with Dacrylate Thinner R5.
Sound Paintwork: As for Fibreglass above.
Application: Convential/HVLP Spray: Thin with upto 10% Dacrylate Thinner R5 to achieve optimum spray characteristics.
Airless Spray: Use unthinned. Tip size 13 thou (0.33mm). Tip pressure 2000psi (140 Bar).
To improve through drying: Immediately prior to use, mix 1-part GP Hardener/Activator to 10 parts of UHB Primer (91-Line or 591-Line). Use within 8 hours after which it should be discarded.
Force drying: Allow primer (with or without hardener additive) to flash-off. Force drying at approximately 60°C for 30-45 minutes.
Clean-up: Dacrylate Thinner R5.
