Theoretical Coverage: 5.5m² per litre at 100 microns dry film thickness
Drying Time At 20°C:
Touch Dry: 4 hours
Film Dry: 6 hours
Overcoat: After 6 hours but within 5 days. After 5 days, lightly abrade and solvent-wipe before overcoating.
(will vary with temperature, air movements, etc.)
Packaging: 5 litre composite packs
Shelf Life: 2 years or longer in unopened containers when stored under cover in good storage conditions.
Storage: Under cover with temperature range of 5°C to 32°C.
Surface Preparation: For maximum protection, steel should be abrasive blasted to ISO 8501-1 SA 2.5, followed by one coat of Epidac 2 Primer Grey (Ref.: 79-66).
May be applied direct to clean steel, free of millscale, preferably to a total dry film thickness of 200 microns (minimum).
When only manual cleaning is possible, prepare steel using powerwire brush, scrapers, etc., to remove all rust, loose millscale, etc. Degrease with Dacrylate Thinner R6.
Use of Epidac 2 Zinc Phosphate Primer Grey (Ref.: 79-66) would be particularly advantageous with manual surface preparation.
Recommended total dry film thickness - 250 microns.
Galvanised Steel: Pre-treat with Dacrylate Mordant Solution (Ref.: 150-23).
Application: May be applied by brush or airless spray. For conventional spray, add up to 10% Dacrylate Thinner R6 to achieve optimum spray characteristics.
Pot Life (at 20°C): 8 hours
Mixing Ratio by Volume: 4.7 parts base / 1 part activator
Clean-up: Dacrylate Thinner R6.
