Aluminium Heat Resisting Finish 400°C

Silicone alkyd aluminium coating type, typically used as a bright aluminium finish with excellent heat resistance up to 400°C.

Colours available: Aluminium only
Appearance Of Dried Film: Bright metallic sheen
Volume Solids: 25%
Dry Film Thickness: Typical 20 microns
Theoretical Coverage: 12.5m² per litre at 20 microns
Drying Time At 20°C: Touch Dry: 2 hours
Film Dry: 6 hours
Overcoat: Overnight
(will vary with temperature, air movements, etc.)
Packaging: 500ml, 2.5 litre and 5 litre containers
Shelf Life: 1 year or longer in unopened containers when stored under cover in good storage conditions.
Storage: Under cover with temperature range of 5°C to 32°C. Remove lids with care due to possible pressure build-up in tin.
Surface Preparation: Abrasive blast to ISO 8501-1 SA2.5 is the preferred method.
Surface preparation should be to the best possible standard to ensure long-term protection. For exterior use, the use of Episil Primer Black Ref.: 17-14, will give improved durability, however, the Episil Primer should nto be used at temperatures exceeding 400°C.
Application: Apply by brush or spray to a wet film thickness of 80 microns to achieve a dry film thickness of 20 microns. An addition of up to 10% of Dacrylate Thinner R70 may be required to give optimum spray characteristics.
Clean-up: Dacrylate Thinner R1 or R70
