Leafing aluminium in oil-based media

General use on metal and woodwork where a bright, lustrous metallic finish is required.

Appearance of Dried Film: Bright metallic sheen
Volume Solids: 70%
Theoretical Coverage: 20-25m² per litre depending on porosity of surface, profile, etc.
Drying Time At 20°C: Touch Dry: 8 hours
Film Dry: Overnight
Overcoat: N/A
(will vary with temperature, air movements, etc.)
Packaging: 5 litre, 2.5 litre, 1 litre and 500ml containers.
Shelf Life: 2 years in unopened containers, when stored under cover in good storage conditions.
Storage: Under cover with temperature range of 5°C to 32°C.
Note: Remove lids with care due to possible pressure build-up in tins during storage.
Surface Preparation: Ensure surface is clean and dry.
Steelwork should be primed with a Dacrylate Anti-Corrosive Primer (Ref.: 95-Line).
Application: Brush: Apply evenly to a wet film thickness of approximately 50 microns.
Spray: Apply by conventional spray - a small addition of Dacrylate Thinner R70 can be used to assist application characteristics.
Special Note: Brilliant Aluminium is primarily linseed oil-based and drying/hardening times will be considerably extended if excessive film thicknesses are applied.
Clean-up: Dacrylate Thinner R1 or R70.
